February 24, 2010 — EVANSTON, ILL. — For the third time this broadcast season, The Big Ten Network will feature the Northwestern University "Wildcat" Marching Band today in a 30-minute special called Gameday.  The program will air at 2 p.m. CT; the network is available on most cable and satellite TV providers. 

Big Ten Network crews followed NUMB during the 2009 band camp in August.  They also filmed the band in performance at last October's homecoming game, which also included the NUMBALUMS, the band's alumni association.  While on campus, Big Ten Networked interviewed the Wildcat Band's director, Daniel J. Farris, as well as several of the band's members.

Two previous features aired on the same day earlier this year.  The first special, Finest Band in the Land, is now available on YouTube on Northwestern University's YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/northwesternu#p/u/1/uLZClP7ZCnI.  The profile of the Wildcat Band's feature twirler, Lauren Maginity, aired as a part of Big Ten Network's News@Northwestern is also posted on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/northwesternu#p/a/u/1/rF4GLw-v5Iw.

Today's Big Ten Network feature will be available on Northwestern's YouTube channel next month.  Although NUMB itself is between seasons, having finished the 2009 year at the Outback Bowl in Florida, it's sister band, the Northwestern University "Wildcat" Basketball Band is entertaining fans and cheering the Wildcats at Welsh-Ryan Arena and is hopeful to perform at the Big Ten men's and women's basketball playoffs.
